This is a carpet clean carried out in Ely, Cambridgeshire.
As you can see the stairs were quite dirty but with a combination of great chemicals and using the hot water extraction machine we got them nice and clean.
One of the few places we clean regularly are the stairs. Probably due to the fact that you have to use the stair tool that came with the vacuum and it’s just too much trouble. For this reason, stair carpets are normally the dirtiest with the most ground in dirt (in most cases we need to go over several times).
Important To Vacuum Once A Week
If you can, vacuum your carpets at least once a week, otherwise you’ll find that they will wear a lot quicker and you will be changing them more often.
Carpets vacuumed at least once per week will prolong their life for at least another 2-3 years. In essence what you are doing is removing dirt, mud, dust and skin particles that rub against the carpet fibres every time they are walked on. With consistent rubbing they wear.
Tip: We find that there’s a concentration of ground in dirt on the first few rungs of the stairs, so it might be a good idea to get a small rug or a piece of carpet remnant from the carpet shop and place it at the foot of the stairs, that way most dirt from your shoes will be deposited on it.
